How our Payments work
Cygnets term time classes are paid via monthly subscription.
Rather than paying one large amount at the start of each term, the cost of your child’s tuition is spread into manageable monthly payments throughout the year, making it easier to budget.
Your monthly subscription payment date will be confirmed during the booking process and the same amount will then be collected automatically each month.
Our academic year typically consists of 30–33 teaching weeks, depending on your local branch’s term dates.
How it works
- You pay one simple monthly subscription amount.
- Your first monthly subscription payment is taken when you book your child’s place.
- Your next monthly subscription payment will be taken on your child’s first lesson date, or one calendar month later (whichever is later).
- Monthly subscription payments then continue automatically on the same date each month.
- Your subscription covers the total number of teaching weeks delivered by your local branch across the academic year.
- The academic year is split into three terms: Autumn, Spring and Summer.
- Your payments are spread evenly throughout the year.
This means some months may include more classes than others, while some may include school holidays with fewer or no classes. Over the course of the year, the payments naturally balance against the teaching your child receives.

Joining partway through the term
You can join at any point during the term, subject to availability.
- Your subscription begins from your child’s first lesson.
- Your first monthly subscription payment is taken when you complete your booking.
- Your next monthly subscription payment will be taken on your child’s first lesson date, or one calendar month later (whichever is later).
- Monthly subscription payments then continue automatically each month.
- You will only be charged for lessons from the point your child joins onwards.
Our booking system automatically keeps track of the lessons your child is entitled to attend and the subscription payments you have made, ensuring your account remains correctly balanced throughout your booking, so you only ever pay for the lessons included within your booking period.
Additional payments
Some Cygnets Art School programmes are not paid by monthly subscription.
For example:
- Holiday Workshops
- After-School Clubs
These may require payment in full when booking.
Where a trial class is offered:
- the trial class is charged as a one-off payment for that session only;
- if you decide to continue, a monthly subscription (where applicable) will begin separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I join partway through the term?
Yes. As long as there is availability, you can join at any point during the term. You’ll only be charged for lessons from your child’s start date onwards.
Do I have to sign up for the whole term?/ Do you offer drop in sessions?
Weekly term-time classes are booked on a term-by-term basis. If joining part-way through a term, your booking will simply cover the remainder of that term. We do not offer drop-in sessions.
What is the cost of an individual class?
Class fees vary between branches. Please contact your local Cygnets Art School for current pricing.
Why might there be a payment in a month with fewer or no classes?
Monthly subscription payments are spread evenly across the year. This keeps your monthly payment consistent, even though the number of classes may vary from month to month because of school holidays.
Is my first payment a deposit?
No. Your first payment is simply your first monthly subscription payment. It secures your child’s place and contributes towards the cost of their tuition. It is not an additional charge or a refundable deposit.
Am I paying twice when I first join?
No. When you book, you make your first monthly subscription payment to secure your child’s place. Your next monthly subscription payment is then taken on your child’s first lesson date, or one calendar month later (whichever is later), before continuing monthly thereafter.
Every subscription payment contributes towards your child’s tuition.
What happens if I want to cancel?
Your subscription continues until you ask us to cancel it.
If you no longer wish your child to continue into the next term, simply provide your local Cygnets Art School with at least 30 days’ written notice before the first lesson of the next term.
When your subscription ends, your account will be reconciled based on:
- the lessons attended;
- the subscription payments made; and
- the applicable notice period.
Where appropriate, any outstanding balance will be collected or any overpayment refunded.
If notice is given after this point, Cygnets reserves the right to retain a cancellation fee equal to one monthly payment.
