David has worked as an art and design teacher for 25 years, running two successful art departments in Bristol schools. Fine Art trained at Kingston University, he has an eclectic taste in art and has a wide range of skills across 2-dimensional and 3 dimensional materials.

David has a particular passion for improving the art skills of primary students and providing them with the opportunity to build their confidence. During his long career as a secondary art teacher he has witnessed first hand the frustrations of families who wanted more art lessons in primary education.​

He was impressed by Cygnets Art School’s unique approach to art classes for students. In particular the positive effect of small groups with structured and clear teaching strategies. After observing several Cygnets classes he was impressed by the children’s final outcomes. These clearly showed they were developing a range of new skills while also being able to explore a range of creative and imaginative themes. He liked it so much he decided to join Cygnets and start some classes.​
