"Enrolling my son in Cygnets Art School has been a decision I'm immensely grateful for. This art class has become a beacon of creativity and joy in his life, and witnessing his growth and enthusiasm has been truly rewarding.

From the moment we entered the studio, it was evident that Cygnets prioritises creating a nurturing and inspiring environment. The instructors are not just teachers but mentors, fostering a sense of curiosity and exploration in every student. Their passion for art is infectious, and it's reflected in the vibrant atmosphere of the studio.

What truly sets Cygnet apart is its emphasis on individuality and self-expression. Rather than adhering to strict guidelines, students are encouraged to experiment with various mediums and techniques, allowing their unique artistic voices to flourish. This approach has helped my son gain confidence in expressing himself creatively and has sparked his imagination in ways I hadn't imagined.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a place where your child can explore their artistic potential, gain confidence, and find joy in the process, I wholeheartedly recommend Cygnets."

Graeme & Natalie Mackay

Cygnets Art School Edinburgh Portobello, is run by husband-and-wife team Graeme and Natalie and is a dynamic and inspiring space for young artists in and around East Edinburgh. Our mission is to nurture creativity, build confidence and instill a love for fine arts in children.

Graeme’s passion for art led him to attend Leith School of Art during his spare time outside of a busy working life in retirement planning and investments. Over the past few years, he has run his own art club, supporting local budding artists with techniques and theory in drawing and painting. Their successful exhibitions and showings in local art centers attest to his dedication. During the challenges posed by Covid, Graeme decided to change career direction by focusing on being more creative in the arts space and taking time to support others who wished to do similar.

Natalie brings her leadership and coaching experience from a career in Financial Services and as a former Girl Guide leader. She loves encouraging children to express their creativity. Together with Graeme, she ensures that Cygnets Art School offers tailored lessons to suit all capabilities. From holiday workshops to private classes, we’re committed to fostering a lifelong love for art.
