At a time when art education is continually underfunded and de-prioritised in schools, weโre incredibly proud that Cygnets Art School continues to grow, reaching more communities across the UK and giving more children access to high-quality art education.
Our classes provide a calm moment between school and home time, where children can slow down, build confidence, and develop real artistic skills. More than that, theyโre given the freedom to express themselves, explore their creativity, and discover a lifelong love of art.
The past few months have been especially exciting for us, with several new branches launching across the country. Each one is led by a passionate franchisee who shares our belief in the importance of creativity in childhood. Weโre delighted to introduce them to you:
Emily at Cygnets Billingshurst
Set in the heart of West Sussex, Cygnets Billingshurst is led by Emily Anderson, a mum of two with a background in art and creative writing. A lifelong creative, Emily has always been passionate about drawing, painting and textile art, and began by sharing this with her children and their classmates. She now brings that same enthusiasm to her wider community, creating a calm, welcoming space where children can build skills, confidence and a lifelong love of art.
Clare at Cygnets Grantham
In the historic market town of Grantham, known for its rich heritage, Clare brings a wealth of experience in both education and design to Cygnets Grantham. With degrees in Fashion & Textiles and CAD Textiles, and a background teaching in schools and colleges, she is passionate about making creativity accessible and empowering for every child. A true creative at heart, Clare combines her love of textiles, watercolour and design with a nurturing approach that helps children grow in confidence and skill.
Emma at Cygnets Farnham
Based in Farnham, a town renowned for its strong artistic heritage, Emma brings extensive experience from the creative industries, including hand embroidery for leading fashion houses and the V&A Museum of Childhood. Now an illustrator working across both digital and traditional media, Emma is passionate about sharing the joy of art with the next generation, helping children develop skills while supporting their wellbeing in an increasingly fast-paced world.
Hilary at Cygnets Leamington Spa
In the elegant Regency town of Leamington Spa, Hilary combines her background as a fine artist and qualified primary school teacher to deliver inspiring, high-quality art education. After working as a mural and interior artist, she went on to complete her PGCE and now balances teaching with her own artistic practice. Hilary is passionate about nurturing creativity in young people and creating a space where they can grow in both confidence and skill.
Laurence and Heather at Cygnets Mid Sussex
Sibling duo Laurence and Heather lead their branch, Cygnets Mid Sussex, with a shared passion for creativity and education. Together with their team, they provide a welcoming and supportive environment where children can explore a wide range of techniques, express their individuality, and build confidence. Their thoughtfully structured classes are designed to nurture both artistic development and self-esteem.
Enoch at Cygnets North Oxfordshire
Enoch already owns an established Cygnets branch in North Oxford, and has excitingly recently launched his second Cygnets branch in North Oxfordshire. Enoch brings both academic and professional artistic expertise to his classes. A fine artist trained at Central Saint Martins, he has also taught across several Cygnets branches, developing a deep understanding of the programme. Alongside teaching, he exhibits his own large-scale work, and brings this real-world experience into the classroom, helping children develop skills, confidence and their own creative voice.
Jessica at Cygnets South Shropshire
Set against the beautiful countryside of South Shropshire, Jessica leads her branch with a calm, thoughtful approach to creativity. With a background in design and a love of traditional fine art, she encourages children to slow down, experiment and enjoy the process of making. Passionate about the role creativity plays in building confidence and focus, Jessica creates a relaxed, supportive environment where children can explore a wide range of materials and techniques.
